Building Skills and Character

Welcome to Focus Sports, where we prioritise the holistic development of every student through our dedicated sports programs. Our focus extends beyond competitions; we believe in nurturing talents while emphasising personal growth and character development.
Our Focus Sports are Basketball, Volleyball and Football. These sports represent the premier teams of the College, offering our talented athletes the opportunity to develop their skills and compete at high-level competitions.

Basketball

(Prep - Year 12)

The Citipointe Basketball program provides comprehensive development and competitive opportunities for athletes of all ages. In the early years (Prep to Year 3), our focus is on building general motor skills and court awareness. As students progress through Years 3 to 6, they develop game sense and team cohesion, with advanced strategies honed during Secondary. We offer various avenues for competition, including interschool and club competitions.

Football

(Prep - Year 12)

The Citipointe Football (Soccer) program starts with weekly training and preseason games, followed by the District Competition. Senior First XI teams compete in prestigious tournaments like the Uhlsport Cup and CSSAQ Tournament, while Junior First XI teams take part in the ISSA Cup, Bill Turner knockout competition, and CSSAQ Tournament. Driven by Christian values, the program prioritises servant leadership and character development through mentoring, aiming to glorify God and uphold positive representation in the College and wider community.

Volleyball

(Year 7 - Year 12)

The Citipointe Volleyball program aims to enhance individual and team skills while honouring God. Students participate in events such as the South District competition, prioritising enjoyment and fitness. Through our structured training program, teams prepare for major competitions like the Volleyball Queensland Schools Cup in Toowoomba and Brisbane, along with tournaments like the Dragons’ Flaming Chalice and Volleyball Australia Schools Cup.

Citipointe Cup

A long-standing tradition at Citipointe, each year our senior students compete against our teachers in thrilling matches of our Focus Sports as well as other exciting matches of Touch Football and Netball.

Interschool competitions

Inter-school competitions are provided via the Christian Schools Sports Association of Queensland (CSSAQ), the Southside Premier League and the School Sports Pathway which includes weekly fixtures leading to Metropolitan Finals and the Champion Basketball School of Queensland (CBSQ) Championships.
